Are you living an engaged life?

I ask myself, am I living an engaged life?
I am exercising several days a week. I go to school to use my mind. I have people in my life who care about me and I care about. I have a career I am working on that is meaningful and ever evolving. I love my life. I love being physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually healthy. I don't take it for granted as I spent my 20's feeling numb, depressed, shut down. My energy is way up because I got it flowing. I learned that I needed to express my anger, sexuality, joy, goodness, etc... With like minded folks. I put myself in places that I could and continue to do that. I have gifts that not everyone has. I am very empathetic and I care about the health of everyone. I can work in situations where I use those gifts. A small thing but it's huge actually, people don't know how to eat. A lot of people eat to survive but they are not eating for healthy and optimal functioning. I can help with that. As a society we are not even eating with sanity yet. I can teach people how to eat. We also don't move enough, I can teach people how to move.

Are you living an engaged life?
My engaged life includes: relationships that are a joy to be in. Where we are kind and funny and good to each other for a long time. This world is one where I have meaningful work that benefits humanity. This world is an engaged world, where I am and fully present with all that I encounter.
What does your engaged life look like?

Interesting: Whats up on planet Earth? http://whatsuponplanetearth.com/

Greetings!
The energies have not changed much over the past few weeks, so even though there is not much to tell, in a strange way, there is.

We are still in a stage where we have unplugged from one “outlet,” and our plugs are hanging in mid-air until we plug into a new “outlet”…but the glimmerings are arriving for that very new outlet in strange and sometimes subtle ways. This is an exciting time indeed. While we are in the unplugged stage, we are preparing and re-aligning in preparation. We are preparing for a whole new us with a very new role, or new aspect to our current roles.

So then, being unplugged means that things are still, as we bottom out before we begin again. When things are still, at times it can feel that there is more going out than coming in, but this will change when we plug in once again. Things may be still without, but not within!

During this preparation period, we were given the opportunity to open and to embody much more light. After this stage is complete, we then begin to feel the glimmerings of a very new connection.

You may suddenly feel very empowered for no particular reason. You may feel like taking a stand. You may feel ready to let go of any of the old that has entwined itself around you or that perhaps you interacted with out of politeness. You may feel like you did your part in a higher way, but you were the only one, and now you must move on….ready to dis-connect completely from any energies that were in a very different space than you. You may feel like it is time to have your way.

Some are having dreams of empowerment, of re-connecting to something new, solid, and of a much higher order, and others are finding new strength in setting boundaries. The past year and a half have been challenging for many, but we are about to finally re-connect to something we have not felt for a very long time…and it will be even better than what we have known thus far.

You may be feeling the glimmerings of being strong once again, as during the dis-connect, we can become disconnected from our true and authentic selves because we are moving into a more pure and higher vibrating version of ourselves. This can make one feel weak, fragile, lost, weepy, and frightened, but it is only temporary. It reminds me of a heart transplant surgery, when the old heart is removed, and all the blood is drained from a patient before a very new heart is then implanted.

In addition, a big shift has occurred over the past several months, even though it may not have seemed like much was happening at all. This shift is directly related to what is about to occur, and all of it has to do with re-connecting to a new and different energy. Over the past several months, we were removed from the old, prohibited from holding it up in any way, and may now have found ourselves in a very new space. Our old roles of holding the light for the entire planet were now abruptly over. This may have caused confusion for some, as who we had always been had suddenly changed, but we are, as always, evolving. We did not need to do this anymore, as we had completed one very important phase.

In times past, the higher energies would bombard the planet, and thus, create frequent shifts. But as time went on, and as we progressed so much in our spiritual evolutionary process, the higher vibrating energies coming from the outside began to diminish and subside in frequency and duration. There-for, these phases of “everything is going so well!” and “there is so much light!” became fewer and far between.

But there is good reason for this seeming lack of light and presence of “darkness.” We are now embodying much more light within. And because of this, it no longer needs to arrive from the outside. So then, we may think that any big phases of light filled ease and glory that we had experienced in the past may never come again, as we have not seen them like we used to. But what is actually occurring is that we need to carry the ball now…ourselves. The scales have tipped….we are the light as never before. There is still the same amount of light, only it is has now been distributed a bit differently, as it is now within us to a much greater degree.

In this way, we are very strangely releasing from the whole…the whole being the outside energies of the universe or Source, as well as the whole being the old energies of prior creations on the planet. And yes, of course we are still and will always be connected to Source, only now we will be running and managing our energy in higher and different ways. We will be finding that the way we utilize energy will now be a bit different. We will thus need to manage energy through ourselves in different ways, and we will be guided and connected to these different ways without needing to consciously know how. So then, we have graduated.

In this way, we are now being encouraged to do what we want to do. This means that connecting to outside energies of Source like we may have done in the past, in order to tap into the “flow” of finding our direction or path, are not nearly as necessary. “What are you talking about Karen?” Say, for instance, that we need to make a decision. In times past, we may have looked for “a sign” or we may have waited to be guided by the higher energies of Source, or placing the light outside of us. We can now choose what we want, and then make it work. It is entirely up to us. There is no right or wrong, or even guidance from above, as the only guidance now is that “it is up to us.” We have earned it. We are re-connecting then, but we are re-connecting to ourselves…our true, authentic, and light filled selves.

But we are also connecting to a new whole, while we release from an older and more densely vibrating whole of the past. The new whole is comprised of purer energies…and most importantly, it is comprised of us. So then, we are connecting to ourselves and we are also connecting to each other. It is then, much more about us now.

As we release the “old whole,” we begin to learn about discernment and boundaries. Although we may still have many different energies wanting to arrive within our spaces, we will now interact with them in new and better ways. This is because we are no longer connected to them in the ways of the past. We are now more detached and can simply see love in every situation, as we now know that everything is not about us. We need no longer “work with them” or even try and be a part of them. We are no longer connected, so we can now observe them, know that they are not about us, and hopefully see them in a loving way.

Wonderful things are about to transpire, but these wonderful things are all in relation to how we choose to handle or interpret what occurs for us on a daily basis. We need not be “waiting” for a better day to arrive, as each day has, as always, its’ own gifts and beauty if we only choose to look. The better day, then, comes through us. In this way, we are now more powerful than ever before. Yes, we may have utilized this knowledge and these principles in times past, but there has been a monumental shift now, so things are different in this regard.

As the equinox of September 22nd draws near, so will our shifting and connecting to things new. Brighter and better things will depend upon each and every one of us now, more than ever before, as we are the ultimate creators. Connecting to our passion, to our true and authentic selves, to what makes us feel great, and to good and special friends are the ultimate ways to connect to more light. And knowing who we really and truly are, while bringing that gift to the planet, will automatically place us in one big and awesome alignment.

I will be in North Carolina spending time with my grandchildren from September 15th until September 25th. I do not have internet access there that allows me to post new energy alerts on the web site, so there will not be a new energy alert until after September 25th (unless, of course, there is some incredibly exciting news to report before I leave on the 15th!)

As always, much love to you all…..

what IS our purpose here???

I literally read this topic today in the book The Power of Intention by Wayne Dyer. Well let me back track a minute... anybody ever heard of the book 'The Purpose Driven Life'? Well I have seen it on just about everybodys bookshelf lately and when I asked a friend who had finished the book what it said, he told me that basically it says that we all have a purpose but there is no way to know what it is. You just have to live your life with purpose blah blah blah. Well as you can see this made me feel like not even reading that book since it seemed like a dead end as far as answers go. Well TODAY I got my answer on this one so thought I would share it with this tribe....

Okay so from the book The Power of Intention, this is what it says:

"As I mentioned, the key question for most of us is 'What is my purpose?' And I hear that question in as many forms as there are people wondering about it: 'What am I supposed to be doing? Should I be an architect, florist, or a veterinarian? Should I help people or fix automobiles? Am I supposed to have a family or be in the jungle saving chimpanzees?' We're befuddled by the endless number of options available to us, and wonder whether we're doing the right thing.

In this chapter, I urge you to forget these questions. Move instead to a place of faith and trust in the universal mind of intention, remembering that you emanated from this mind and that you're piece of it at all times.

Intention and purpose are as beautifully and naturally intertwined as the double helix of your DNA. There are no accidents. You're here for the purpose that you signed up for before you entered the world of particles and form. Many of the things that you refer to as problems result from the fact that you're disconnected from intention to live your life on purpose. As you cleanse this link you'll make two very important discoveries. First, you'll discover that your purpose is not as much about what you do as how you feel. Your second discovery will be that feeling on purpose activates your power of intention to create anything that's consisten with the seven faces of intention.

In response to the question 'what should I do with my life?', I suggest that there's only one thing that you can do with it, since you came into this life with nothing and you'll leave with nothing: YOU CAN GIVE IT AWAY. You'll feel most on purpose when you're giving your life away by serving others. When you're giving to others, to your planet, and to your Source, you're BEING purpose-ful. Whatever it is that you choose to do, if you're motivated to be of service to others while being authentically detached from the outcome, you'll feel on purpose, regardless of how much abundance flows back to you.'

This is an awesome new perspective to take and I am excited to put this into practice. I hope this has helped!

Peace and Wellness,
How Do I Stop Worrying?

The last couple of years there has always seemed to be something going on in my life that would cause me to wake up at 3 in the morning worrying and fretting over what to do, what was going to happen, how I was going to fix something etc.etc.

Now for the first time in a very long time all the cosmic fields are level, karma is good, the goddess is pleased with me and I have no worries!!!

But my body ie: internal alarm clock, hasn't gotten the message. So I still wake up and lie there searching all the cracks and crevices of my mind looking for something, anything to worry about.

Please please give me advice and tips on making this stop!

Your opinion please

I am looking for some advice.

After having one person in my life commit suicide and some one I love dearly, become temporally psychotic and violent, both wile coming off Effexor, I started to research the drug. I discovered that this class of drugs is very dangerous. I have been working for years to get this info out. I am not alone. Other people have been working as hard as me. Some are doctors, some are former users of the drugs, some are moms who lost kids and wives who lost husbands.

The information we have is very complex. It is hard to get people to listen. They think it has nothing to do with them. But they do not know that all most all school massacres have been done by people on these drugs. That normaly kind people are killing neighbors and people they love and it keeps happening. They do not know that the list of nightmarish side effects is incredibly long or how bad the withdrawal can be.

Recently it has been proven the the drug companies have been hiding the negative studies. Now a new Meta Study INCORPORATES the Hidden Studies: SSRI & SSNRI Antidepressants Work No Better Than Placebos for the vast majority of depressed people.

And still most people do not know the facts. These mostly useless, scary drugs with so many awful side effects are the most prescribed drugs today.

I am growing worn out by this work. But when ever I try to quit, I think of all the people whose life's have been harmed by this giant campaign of misinformation created by an industry that has become wealthy selling dangerous snake oil. How can I stop, knowing that there are so many people who need this information? I feel haunted by the burden of information that badly needs to be told.

Please tell me. What would you do?

CHOOSING LOVE INSTAED OF FEAR (the only reason we're here)

The only reason we incarnate is to learn how to choose love instead of fear. It does not matter what you do for a living, where you live, or who you marry, etc. The only purose you have is to extend love to everyone you come into contact with, including yourself. This is how you BECOME what you already ARE: LOVE. The only way to restore perfect inner peace that is stable and unwavering is to choose to be willing to extend love to everyone you come into contact with, including yourself.

By "love" I mean unconditional acceptance. And by "unconditional acceptance" I mean God. By "you" I mean me. And by "me" I mean you. We are all ONE and we are all LOVE. And by "we" I mean GOD. And by "God" I mean LOVE...You get the picture!

The most amazing miracle has transpired in my life over the last 24 hours as a result of my own sincere willingness to be a vessell for love, to be a vessell for that which I AM, which is God. I wanted to share...

I put a profile on My Space about a month ago. I saw a woman on there named Joni Ellen Jenkins. This is my name. I almost asked her to join my friend list but hesitated and then did nothing. I had a very stressful custody hearing scheduled with my son's father yesterday. When I got home from the courthouse yesterday there was an e-mail from Joni Ellen Jenkins who lives in Pennsylvania. Her e-mail address is jonijenks@gmail.com and mine is jonijenkins@gmail.com. She had suspected that her insurance company had sent e-mails meant for her to me. Sure enough I had the e-mails in my box that day. We started to breifly chat and make small talk through e-mails. She invited me to join her friend list on My Space. One thing led to another and she told me she had cancer and is only a 40 year old mom. I am a 39 year old mom. I started writing to her from a spiritual perspective, and then suddenly I realized what was going on!

Here is the last e-mail I sent to her; this is incredilbe!!

************************************

Dear Joni Ellen Jenkins,

Oh my God, I think that meeting you has been the greatest gift God has ever given me!

I have been trying to release all my own walls to self love, with perfect inner peace being the goal. I have made much progress but there was still a little bit of work left.

I went through a traumatizing custody trial with my son's father yesterday, but won. However the experience made me more aware of my own walls to love. When I came home from the courthouse I got your e-mails.

I know why I hesitated when I first saw the My Space profile. There was a timing issue. I was meant to make contact with you right after court when my own fears were so triggered and my walls to love were easy to see.

When you told me about the cancer my heart was flooded with so much love and compassion for you. It is always easier to see someone else's perfection and divinity than your own. It is always easier to see someone else's wall to self love than it is to see your own. As I was loving you and contemplating that we have the exact same name, Joni Ellen Jenkins, the reality that we (all of humanity) really are ONE permeated my consciousness. I had the profound realization that by deeply loving and forgiving you (Joni Ellen Jenkins) I was deeply loving and forgiving myself (Joni Ellen Jenkins).

The truth is that you are love, you are God, and you are soooooooooo powerful and perfect. All you need do is forgive yourself for forgetting the truth. That is always easier said than done. And all I need do is forgive myself for forgetting the truth. By loving you so deeply I have let down yet another wall to self-love and that is the greatest gift I have ever received. When I love you I love myself becasue we are, in truth, ONE. The fact that we have the same name is just a coincidence, but has aided me in dramatically shifting and healing my perception.

You truly are God--you knew exactly when the right time was to contact me so that the highest form of healing would take place for both of us.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU MY DEAR SISTER OF LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

XOXOXOXOXOXOXO

Joni Ellen Jenkins

*********************************

I hope that Joni Ellen Jenkins inspired you as much as she has inspired Joni Ellen Jenkins. I hope that LOVE inspired you to remember that you are LOVE. I hope that God is willing to allow God to remind God that God cannot be anything but God.

I LOVE YOU.

A near death experience almost a year ago laid me out and made me reasses everything. I thought I had learned so much that I was wise and that I could find true love. I was really connected to buddhism for a while, it helped me so much. I decided to get a job and save up to get some security. What can I say? I lost my mojo, I lost my will to go on at points... I am not living the life I wish to live. At times I feel dissapointed that I am so dark, I should be rejoicing that I am still here, but I feel like a walking ghost. I am getting to serious, hybernating and hiding from the party. I am a painter but have no inspiration at the moment. I used to be the Life of the party so what happend? How can I get my spirit back? Now I have $ and want to move to start my new life, but I don't know where to go or what to do. Im getting pulled to various towns throught out the western states. Any recommendations, and has this every happend to any of you?

I am now in sweden

I moved to Sweden for love....but due to cercumstances beyond my control...I am going to the US for a visit and to look for work. But may return here..I am lost
Even though I have 12 years college finding work in the USA is/will be hard considering the economy. I have taken great pleasure in teaching at Universities but it is hard to get in as for art teachers (even though I have taught other subjects) it cost around 50-60 dollars per application to apply. I have since worked as a mental health Professional to give back and to help those in need..but no longer feel that calling. I will be returning to the US at the end of April..to Northern Indiana where I was borrn. I have moved across the country and to various states for work.
I have moved around so much I thought HOME would be a place where I have found my "LIFE PURPOSE" but so for thos purposes have been temporary. I know seem lost and no longer a young man as I am 48....I worry about life purpose and don't know what mine is. Originally, the plan was to teach on a reservation and give back to my people...I applied to dozens for over 5 years and with letters of rejection found or at least it seemed that was not my purpose..what is my purpose? I wish I knew..any advice?
Moving around for years and years friends came and went..family died..and has frown apart..some moved. where is home and what is my life purpose?
my little web site under construction:
www.kalonasahaniwaya.blogspot.com
gives you an idea about my life.
Thanks

Experience An India Yoga Odyssey

Experience a Transforming India YOGA Odyssey
(February 21 to March 6, 2008)

Just imagine your airplane touching down at the India airport of your choice – Mumbai or Ahmadabad – on Thursday, February 21, 2008. Awaiting you at the airport is your guide, who will escort you by rail or taxi to your hotel accommodations in Surat City, Gujarat State. You will have arrived just in time to take in the World Yoga Championships, either as a participant or as a spectator. If anyone wishes to participate in the Championships the necessary registration forms can be downloaded at www.lifemission.org. The Championships run from February 22 though February 24. (The Championships were primarily founded as a means for encouraging youth worldwide to engage themselves in the ageless science of yoga for the betterment of body, mind and spiritual development in similar fashion that society worldwide encourages youth to participate in common sporting events.)

Following the Championships, you will be escorted to Malav Ashram for a five night stay, which includes three days of “hands on” yogic training under the expert guidance of Acharya Yogendradev, who has taught in North America, Taiwan, and India

And now – the Tours – you will tour the historic spiritual pilgrimage site of Kayavarohan and visit the Brahmeshwar Temple of Lord Lakulish (the 28th incarnation of Lord Shiva).
Handling the Holiday Blues

I just finished writing the newsletter for my work and thought others might find this information useful as well.
xo

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dealing with the Holiday Blues

Below I have provided some information and 26 tips to help.

The holiday season can be a difficult time for many. Dealing with feelings such as stress and loneliness during the holiday season can take its toll. It is meant to bring joy and celebration but sometimes this time of year can bring sadness and despair. Changes in life, such as being separated from family and friends, or living through the grief of a loss can be especially hard.

Holiday blues are also thought to be primarily caused by expectation and comparison along with a lack of planning and action. People generally have high expectations for the holidays. We often hope that they will make up for a year gone wrong. We expect family members to become friendly, season’s greetings to be sent, gifts to be given, and happiness to reign. The mass media, through news stories, TV specials, and advertising, raise this hope for "what may be." The reality of "what is" often falls short of the expectation and there is disappointment.

Negative memories may also be associated to the holiday season and those suffering with depression and other mood disorders can be affected at this time of year due to change of day light.

Many people are lonely at this time of year if they are working or going to school without a way to get back to your family for the holiday season. You may have not been in Vancouver long enough to make many friends. It can be hard to find comfort.

Characteristics of “The Blues” are emotions—sadness, loneliness, depression, anxiety—and, although intense and unsettling, are generally short-lived and usually subside within a few weeks once a daily routine is resumed.

Other symptoms of the holiday blues may include:
•	headaches
•	inability to sleep or sleeping too much
•	changes in appetite causing weight loss or gain
•	agitation and anxiety
•	excessive or inappropriate feelings of guilt
•	diminished ability to think clearly or concentrate
•	decreased interest in activities that usually bring pleasure, such as:
o	food
o	sex
o	work
o	friends
o	hobbies
o	entertainment

The most important things to remember are: it's a normal response to a stress-filled time of the year and you don't have to suffer unnecessarily. If you anticipate feeling very lonely on Christmas Day or Christmas Eve, there are ways that you can help yourself feel better and survive the holiday season.

1.	Volunteering offers a way to interact with others, give to the community, and help keep your spirits up through giving. The Union Gospel Mission, Salvation Army, Carnegie Community Centre, or various churches will provide Christmas dinners and benefit by receiving help from volunteers. This is a good way to help yourself by not being alone and by helping others in need.

2.	If you are in a new community, try to get an invitation somewhere for Christmas. Let others know that you would enjoy having dinner with them.

3.	Invite someone to join you in celebration.

4.	Find out what the community offers and participate in it. Go to the concerts and parades. Get involved.

5.	Takes gifts to a children’s home.

6.	Be active by going for walks. Getting some exercise keeps mood levels up. Don’t stay cooped up inside too long. 20 minutes of exercise every day will raise endorphin levels and allow you to absorb what sunshine there is.

7.	Be aware of your diet - try not to overindulge in alcohol or sweets. Alcohol and sugar can really affect mood and brings on ‘moodiness’.

8.	Get enough rest: general self-care of the body is important.

9.	Organize your time: make lists and prioritize.

10.	If you are going home to be with family, bad memories might come up that can be really stressful. Take items from your current home that you have positive associations with. This might be a teddy bear, pictures of friends, a good book, or candles. Anything to help you feel more comfortable.

11.	Planning time away from family. If you are going for a few days, it can be stressful. Getting away can help to lessen the stress.

12.	If you find that you fall back into old patterns when you are around family members, it can he helpful to remember that you are an adult now and you have the ability to behave and respond in a different way. Spend some time planning ahead. What kinds of circumstances will occur that might bring up old feelings?

13. Be Prepared. There may be certain things that happen every year that drive you up the wall. This year, talk to the people involved ahead of time and try to defuse those situations before they occur.

14.	If finances are a concern, be aware of this and set reasonable limits.

15.	If there is a significant loss that you are reminded of this time of year, such as a death in the family or a divorce, it can be helpful not to push it away and pretend it didn’t happen. Recognize that there was a loss and take time to acknowledge it. Create a healthy way of remembering. Examples could include putting out favorite photographs and light a candle before them.

16.	If you are in a new city or find yourself lonely, try to create new memories for yourself. You may enjoy events around the city such as the Festival of Lights at VanDusen Botanical Garden.
(Dates and times: 4:30 to 9 p.m. every night, December 7th, 2007 through January 1st, 2008 except December 25th when the Garden is closed.)

17.	Another tool to help you get through the Holiday Blues is to remember that the Christmas season will pass.

18.	Also, remember that winter will pass. Winter does not last forever.

19.	Remember to take your medication. Also, taking a multi-vitamin and fish oil capsules daily can contribute to overall health and keep stress down. Other vitamin supplements such as Vitamin D or a B Complex can be helpful for mood.

20.	Keep yourself busy to take your mind of things if that helps. Make plans to go out for lunch, go for walks, go to the movies or even curl up at home and watch a movie.

21.	If you are suffering from clinical depression, getting some help can be beneficial this time of the year. Go to see a therapist, look for a support group, or contact the mental healthy team in your area. Get as much help and support as you can.

22.	Give yourself a break -- plan to prepare (or buy) one special meal, purchase one special gift, and take in one special event.

23.	If you don’t like shopping, shop online or make gifts.

24.	Do your best not to create unrealistic expectations and don’t get caught up in comparisons.

25. Find someone to talk with who can help you through this difficult time -- a family member, friend, a spiritual leader, or professional counsellor.

26.	Call a crisis line in your time of need: Vancouver area 604-872-3311.

Awake from your dreams: Life is a vacation to the divine

"Your ultimate goal is to be happy. Where is that happiness? Within you. If you want to have permanent happiness, it will never come from outside. If somebody makes you happy today, the same person will make you unhappy tomorrow. You are happiness and peace personified. Find that happiness and peace within you."

—His Holiness Sri Swami Satchidananda
This means that all the happiness we have experienced through outward means (other people, places and lowest of all 'things') is just a stimulation of our own inner happiness. This also means any happiness you experienced through these outward means is always inside you. All your great memories are there to reflect upon what a wonderful gift of life and 'free will' we have been given to reach our highest goal: self realization that we are: ever conscoius, ever aware, and ever blissful: satchidananda.
We are free, but me must realize this by many means, because most of us are in delusions. Travel is a very important one for most. Because when you travel without those who normally surrond you, family, most intimate relationships, and you are free of desire other than to know they Self through desireless means you lose a big part of your attachment. Travel thousands of miles to a new place where no one knows you. Life is a journey, not a carrear, or an enslavement to lower desires for lust and material things. Life is simple it is the system taught to us which we become entagled in a web of complicated delusions and possessions through weakened will. Life is a vacation to higher awareness. Not service to a system that cares only to enslave you. Still your mind and open your third eye, through yoga, meditation, studying of teachings, and learning to tune into the divine teachings constantly surronding you.
Through the good and bad the universe is always trying to get through to us a message. Through our still minds we are better abled to recieve these messages. Many of us interpret things as good or bad (i still do sometimes) this is the dualistic movie the universe; OM; has created. Up and down, black and white, hot and cold, smooth and rough, reason and feeling, day and night. Evil is that which obstructs the truth of our existence. Evil can be interpreted as misunderstanding of our nature: selfless, endless love. Nothing is bad; we learn from all. "Good things", easy, pleasing things make us appreciative and thankful (at first) that we may live in such a beautiful world. Then comes our suffering, which we have been taught to think of as "bad". These things are not bad because they are teaching us something; always a lesson, and they bring us closer to our Spirit. It is often when we are hurt or lowest we re-orient our values to what really is important to our soul. Sufferings also allow us to appreciate the good even more. Because 'the good' things would become dull and eventually 'bad' if we did not have reminders of our path to create trials. there is a yoga affirmation "each wave of trials only brings me higher" Tis true. That is why you are lucky for all that you recieve; thus it is all good because it is leading to a beautiful, eternal bliss. and it will come sooner if you are open to the messages being sent from all around you.
"When you dont do what you want, then you may do what you like" - Indian master
We must give up the constant demans of the ego: sense pleasures, instant fufillment; and begin what is truley good for us, a devotion to our knowing our Soul; the Self; The Infinite Spirit. "DESTROY WRONG DESIRE NOW LEST IF FOLLOW YOU INTO THE NEXT LIFE" -Swamiji Sri Yukteswar. Dissolve the bubble of the ego into the ocean of spirit.
"All things in the future will improve if you are making spiritual effort now."- Swamiji Sri Yukteswar

Basically, I'm offering people the opportunity to come stay with a retired naturopathic doctor in a truly amazing natural setting, secluded, idyllic, peaceful...
Also, if you might like to lead a retreat, please contact me.
Thank you and you are welcome,

career aptitude test

Not that this is necessarily relevant to this particular tribe, I just wanted to share this with someone because I found it really humorous -- thought you guys might appreciate this too ... I just got finished taking a career aptitude test from LiveCareer.com ... Although the website is obviously recent, I can only imagine that the test itself is horribly, horribly old... 100 questions, not a single question about using computers -- there was however a question about using an "adding machine"... you know, the things people used *before* calculators :) Plus a number of questions about other things people haven't done in decades. ... so a tthe end of the test, it gives me this thank you blurb:

===================
Congratulations Isaac,

You've taken an important step toward finding a career that’s right for you. This free report is based on your answers to LiveCareer's Career Directions Inventory (CDI). The CDI measures career interests and is one of the most advanced, scientifically-based tests of its kind.
===================

Nice to know what the state of the art was in 1950. :P Maybe I should get a job creating a new aptitude test, since theirs is so outdated.

advice for a struggling career changer

So, without boring you too much with the details, I have been trying to figure out a way to pursue a new career the past 8 months or so. In retrospect, I have not gone about it the best way. However, here I am. I have reached a crossroads on the path to a new career. My question to you all is: what would you do? My options are to cash out half of my retirement savings to attend school for the next 2 years (I was refused student lines of credit and loans because they said I had too much retirement money...no options for scholarships from the school until the 2nd year of study) OR to work in a career I don't like and go to school part-time (which of course means it will take longer and possibly be more difficult to manage).

I guess part of me says, it's just money, so cash it out and get doing what I want to do sooner rather than later. But the cautious part of me worries that cashing out that money would be a mistake, especially if I can still achieve my ultimate goal in the end. And I worry that without the loan I expected I could receive, things will be very tight. I should add that I don't have TONS of retirement money, do not come from a wealthy family, etc., so I don't have a security blanket should things go awry. Any words of wisdom, encouragement, shared experience, etc. are most welcome :)

Please use www.railwaychildren-friends.com/email.asp as a search engine for your internet searches and you'll raise a massive 10p per search! please set it as your homepage for ease of use and start raising money today ;)

You can have a snoop on the charities efforts at www.railwaychildren.org.uk

They are mainly a preventative charity which in terms of being a street child can mean the difference between a world of pain and heartache and a life worth living. Railway children endeavour to meet runaway children before pimps, pushers or abusers do. They are even getting to help the kids in Siberia who are living in the sewers.

80% of their money goes straight to the projects, 17% fundraising, 3% admin etc, so they are a 'fair-enough-trade' charity.

10p a search is phenomenal and it means that the average amount spent per child -£44- will take 440 searches...its fairly usual for me to search 20 items per evening, so that means in 22 evenings that ground level support for a child is reached. www.railwaychildren-friends.com/email.asp

There is a snag with the search page which is that on entering a search it automatically redirects to a normal search page for the results. So inorder that you keep raising money for the charity you have to go back to the root page with the picture of the child and the green bits for each new search subject to raise another all important 10p.

Thanks very much for your efforts and please do enjoy your days. Also if there are any forums that you can forward this message or indeed your own personal email contacts please do send this on, more the better. ;) *

Has an email ever changed your life? Lets do that help for the ones who don't have internet access or in alot of cases protection or food

Sharing a life experience in holding my space

We’ve all been in situations where we find ourselves behaving in ways we know is either contrary to the good of the moment, or not in line with what would be most healing. In these moments our egos are in the driver’s seat. We are driven by our ego’s need for validation and instant gratification. To act outside of our egos is one way in which we can hold our own space. This is often an unfamiliar and difficult task. I have been blessed to have had a recent intense lesson in holding my space.

I’ve had quite an amazing connection with a beautiful and magical man for many years, albeit sporadic. I haven’t seen him in years and he was coming through town with his partner. My task was to be sensitive to his relationship, and not call upon any of our past connection. I knew I’d see this man, but was not sure what form it would take. I was in fear most of the month, preparing for the encounter, or non-encounter that would ensue.

The weekend came. I and some friends attended two concerts this man and his partner put on. There was no drama, and for most of the two nights I was simply happy to be listening to his beautiful music.
There was also a very contrived and rigid lack of recognition. He would not look at me, nor talk to me. This is as I expected.

It wasn’t until the last moment of the final concert night that I got my biggest test. I had held my space well up until that point, not allowing my ego to search for and validate our past connection. The last song brought in some of his amazing magic, and my heart opened in such a beautiful and painful way. Here was magic, magic I had been the recipient of at one point – a magic I was no longer able to touch. I watched my ego go through a small death as I realized this once amazing connection was not for me, not for now. I so desperately wanted simply some eye contact to validate my ego’s belief that I had been special. But there was none of that.

So I watched as this sadness engulfed me, then moved out. Holding my space in that moment, not allowing my ego to receive its validation, offered me a release. In that release I gained more room for myself, and my open heart began to fill with compassion instead of sadness.
I was able to hold some non-judgmental room for the process this man needed to go through for the sake of his current relationship.

My friends were some of my greatest teachers that weekend; grounding me when necessary, role-modeling loving compassion, and offering me unconditional support. I’m grateful to them, and thankful for my lessons.

I used my energetic tools constantly during that experience to help the fear remain fluid and not stick. My tools enabled me to watch and experience my little ego death. And it’s quite ironic that with each of those moments comes more of our own divinity.

Why Meditate?

A question that often comes up when I teach meditation is “Why should we meditate?” Most of us are aware of the basic benefits related to stress management, relaxation, and improving the overall quality of life. There are a vast amount of meditation practices, philosophies and techniques. But the commonality is that each one leads to the expansion of our spirit by way of neutrality.

Neutrality is a way to live life in present time without the static of fear or judgment. The path to neutrality involves finding tools that bring us out of past experiences and into the present moment. Being in the present gives us the clarity to make choices instead of being stuck in our patterns and belief systems. It also enables us to move through fear with ease, and step out of judgment and into self-love. When we do this we expand our comfort zone and destroy our limits. Once we do this we are free to act from our true potential.

Meditation permits us to look inward at our true selves. For some of us meditation is the only mode that allows self reflection. Through meditation we begin to look at ourselves in neutrality and then see what is limiting us in life. I find that my limits are self-imposed. When I experience fear or function in judgment I am limiting my spirit, life, and self. The more I look at my judgments of others the more I realize I am actually criticizing myself and stunting my growth.

My goal is to be aware of when I am not in the present moment, when I am stuck in fear, and when I am in judgment. If I am aware of these things I can change my behavior pattern and destroy the self-made stifling obstacles. The result is personal growth, which has endless possibilities.

How do you define "worth?"

Aloha, Souldancer here . . .

I just self-published a book, "Pay Me What I'm Worth" that's received great reviews so far. The goal of this book is simple: rediscover your natural, ever-evolving balance between receiving and giving. How? Re-discover ALL of who you are - inside and out! (That's what happens if you dance with any one of the 33 highly unique exercises sprinkled in each chapter.)

Given my spiritual (shamanic) studies and teachings over the past two decades, I've come to know the more I allow myself to receive what is in the highest and greatest good for all of us, I more effortlessly GIVE - worry free!

Kindly consider joining a tribe I created to support the launch and use of this book:
http://tribes.tribe.net/payme

as well as sharing your thoughts on how you come to know the concept, "worth."

Should you feel so inspired, click on the "add to friends" button on my profile page! The more bright smiles - the merrier!

Uncovering one's life purpose is not a simple task. However, here the following book provides very direct, handy tools. The best part is that you don't have to read the whole book. It's a reference book.

Honestly

Who here can honestly say they've uncovered their life's purpose???

Give a little brief description..or did you always know ever since you were a child.

I would also like to hear from the "dabblers" - Those who've touched on their purpose but haven't found a way to fully commit

Are you fully fledged in your purpose??? or...... like myself..just becoming clear and begginning to work on it...

After traveling and living in different countries for 8 yrs.. I've begun writing a book "The long way home"

In some ways I felt I couldn't come home till I'd discovered my life's purpose..

It is not singular... I've learned significant things about how to run my emotions and body that I see people live and die not learning..

I've also had to re-align my own posture

I feel a great need to help individuals especially aboriginals in my country..

So with this in mind I'd like to create an "advancement centre" where people who want to move forward on their personal path come to share and work on their goals... It requires networking, business skills, general knowledge in the area of many healing forms...and so on..

My work is certainly cut out for me and I'll be busy till the day I die..

I also love out door adventure and entertaining and I would like to see if I can mange to incorporate this too..

I would genuinely love to hear from others who are either passionate about their purpose..or about finding it...

Thanks for this opportunity

Do you ever feel like you've been walking in place along life's path? The stimuli change- friends, lovers, books, movies, politics etc. but you are nowhere nearer to or farther from the recursive sameness that you wake up to find yourself in day after day...

I have a good career & can make good income while working only 8-9 months per year.
This leaves time & money to travel or change a few parameters of my living environment or an Art project but what else?

I've been married, had a lot of short to medium term relationships & flings, each satisfying in it's own way but all have ended eventually.

Entering my 50th year on this mortal coil I find myself wondering now, more than ever, what's the point?

Ever been there?

Care to share what you did next?

Find out how you really feel on the inside

"Significant changes would occur along three major dimensions; values and beliefs, personality, and actual behavior in major life areas. More specifically, it was hypothesized that a profound *********** experience tends to be followed by a major reorientation of one's value system and life outlook. It was further hypothesized that this change in basic beliefs would in terms be followed by slower alterations in personality as well as changes in modal behavior patterns.
The findings so far provide considerable support for the general hypothesis concerning parallel changes in values, personality, and behavior Three days following the *** session, a consistent and reliable increase was found in the extent to which an individual agrees with test items reflecting a deep sense of meaning and purpose in life, open-mindedness, greater aesthetic sensitivity, and sense of unity or oneness with nature and humanity. Decreases were found on values pertaining to material possessions, social status, and dogmatism. Also significant was the finding that changes in personal beliefs either remained constant or became still more prominent at later follow-ups. Thus, it seems safe to conclude that a rapid and extensive change in values does tend to occur in most subjects, and importantly, is maintained over time. "

There are tools available for your spiritual insight brothers and sisters. Can anyone guess what im saying? Always consider both options

Life Purpose??

Life purpose.

.....Is it even the right question?

The world changes too fast, I change too fast. Some things remain constant. But, for me, I gave up on a life purpose, or a life plan, and just look for what I'm going to do for the next 5 years.

"What am I going to do when I grow up??" To heck with that.

I'm having a much better time just looking towards what I'm going to do next. :-)

Follow Your Bliss to a Dilemma?

I 'm wondering who else has experienced something like this, and found balance? Has it ever seemed that following your bliss becomes counterproductive to that which matters most to you? How do you manage to balance your natural interests and talents against the effort required to overcome internal shortcomings and external obstacles?

I’ll be more specific. I live on a beautiful bit of ground in the Smokies of North Carolina. It 's my not-so-original belief that much of the unrest in the world, the war against the planet, the war with each other and the war against ourselves, results from losing our connections with the natural world. To me, it is a very healing thing to work with the soil, to grow food, to observe the native plants as they grow and change during the year and to protect some habitat for the birds and wildlife that share this mountain.

At the same time, even though I 'm a very independent person, I also recognize a sense of isolation and a desire to do something that extends beyond myself, and might be of more lasting value. Especially when what I see a society that suffers from its unhealthy fixations. Still, I continue on the path it seems I'm meant to follow, doing the work I am meant to do…despite the fact that it doesn’t much help other people in need, and despite the fact that it won’t have much lasting effect after I’m gone. Or, to what extent should I neglect THAT work to try to break through to what feels like an alien culture in so many ways? (I don't know anyone around here who wants to raise their own food, it seems they'd be a lot more excited to get a new Wal-Mart!)

I'm curious how this might strike a chord with anyone else. Maybe if you’re an artist, it's that conflict between doing art versus developing the business side of being a professional artist. Anyhow, I'd be curious to hear about the experiences that anyone else has had along these lines, and the ways in which you have arrived at a balance for your life purpose to unfold. (In my own case, I'm not quite sure.) Thanks!

HERE'S A NEW LIFE - CRUISE THE MED MAKING DOCUMENTARIES

Beginning in March next year, we are inviting 9 people to cruise from Bodrum, Turkey along the Turkish coast, Cyprus, Athens, Alexandria on a share expenses basis (very, very inexpensive). We began a documentary in Paris and Turkey last year, and now as it gets warmer in Turkey we are going to complete it. We have a US distributor, and everyone involved will share in profits. It could be quite profitable for you and a real life changer. We are in pre-production of three others...one on black jazz in Paris after WWII until now. We have a Turkish captain/crew/cook on our 75' Gulet, 6 double staterooms, all with their own head (toilet and shower). Qualifications? Simply to be able to get along with people. Age? Our producer is 60, our editor is 25. Age inmaterial if you are young in spirit. If you have video experience (HD MiniDV PAL and Final Cut Pro, writing) all the better, but we are doing this to perhaps expand the focus of our documentary which is based on the mystical aspects of Alexander the Great - Title: Force of Evidence. Creative people get free reign as long as they don't sink the ship or the project. We are interested to add some human interest...profound, provocative, funny...to the program, so film making experience in not a requirement. Come for a week or two months. Email me for details.

A new lifestyle - nude

I have been a nudist since my early teens, but for many years I restricted my nudism to the privacy of my own home or secluded beaches and country side and maybe spending only a few hours a week unclothed (other than in bed). Anyway over the years the desire to live completely naked and not hide my nakedness became stronger and eventually I dipped my toe into the nude lifestyle and since then never looked back.

I disposed of all my clothing, only keeping certain items of footwear, a thong and a silk sarong. I now live a completely nude life, I am happy, I have no stress and whats more i have more good freinds than ever before, and oddly enough none of them are nudists but they support my choice of lifestyle and I support their freedom to choose.

i'm new here and need some advice from you lovely people. i don't know what to do...

i have a lovely son and partner, that i cannot complain about. however, we have no money, we are living in a sh*t hole which i cannot afford to leave, i have lots of skills but cannot afford to get qualifications to get a decent job, my current job sucks, i have no life...i cannot afford to have one, my partner makes the money to pay the bills by doing two jobs and has nothing left at the end of the month. we were seriously in debt but now just covering the bills as we got a consolidation loan. how do you get out of this? i can't see a way out. i've been feeling depressed with the odd suicidal thought, i'm not in danger of hurting anyone although i turn my anger on myself alot. is it going to be like this forever? my partner can't hold two jobs for much longer, he's stressed enough as it is, and i'm putting severe pressure on myself to make enough money so he can quit one job but how? anyone have any ideas? i usually have good intuition with these things but it seems now things have got too much and now all i can see is blackness.

please help!

It doesn't interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing.
It doesn't interest me how old you are.
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring your moon...
I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow if you have been opened by life's betrayals or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain.
I want to know if you can sit with pain mine or your own without moving to hide it
or fade it, or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own, if you can dance with wildness
and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to
be careful, be realistic, remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn¹t interest me if the story you are telling me is true.
I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself.
If you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see Beauty even when it is not pretty, every day.
And if you can source your own life from its presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand at the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, "Yes!".
It doesn¹t interest me to know where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up after the night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done to feed the children.
It doesn't interest me who you know, or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.
It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.

i've just discovered tribe and i love it!

three months ago i walked out of my job having been a high school teacher for the past 15 years. i'd eventually made it to assistant principal; i had just bought a beautiful 3 bedroom house and i had a cool car - (everything you are supposed to want) but something was missing...

so this december i flew to thailand and did a one month yoga teacher training course with Shakti Mhi from Vancouver (she is a beautiful, spiritual and inspiring teacher) and i have now returned to london and i am selling my car and renting out my house to spend the next 12 months living my dream...

i love the fact that i am walking away from everything that we are told we should aspire to in life.

i want to live on a beach; i want to meditate and practise yoga every day; i want to meet exciting people; i want to begin to teach yoga; i want to get up with the sun; i want to dance as if no one's watching; and maybe if i really live in the moment - i'll meet my soulmate on my beach!

so im looking at the possibility of running out of money. i know thats not the way a good new thought person 'should' think, bla bla bla... but the bottom line is im supposed to register for the next tern of school by the end of the month and ive got just about enough left in the savings to cover it. after that is anybodys guess.
i've been led on this path for many moons, got licensed as a spiritual practitioner/counselor and that really is what i seem to do best. so the next step seemed natural, back to school to get my masters in consciousness studies, get ordained... and now im just not sure what to do... my spiritual practice isnt connecting me, im out of whack and out of sorts and dang near out of cash... though i know you cant tell me what to do really, i do trust that the universe communicates through people (among a zillion other ways) so thought i'd toss this out and see... if nothing else, thanks for letting me vent a little...
namaste...

I know there are responsible families who cannot concieve but would be willing to consider using an ovum donor. Have you been a donor? Do you know someone who has? Please help me build a support community for this topic by spreading the word!

On another tribe I was directed to a web link...can't remember it---will find if you absaloutly need it--THE cool thing was the exersize on how to figure out what your purpose is---basically, with pad and paper, start writing down what you think your psurpose is etc., and you will know you have found your purpose when you break down in tears. I did it and within 10 min was crying-- my purpose?--' to give people hope'..hokey maybe and there is no clear set of directions but if that is my purpose than how that manifests in an 'occupation etc', is not really as important as being in a position to give people hope in whatever capacity--So, I challenge you to do the exersize and share what you found. I can't find the link right now but when i do i will add it!!

Explaining my unexplainable work, Women in Power

This marks six years now since I began this international women's initiation and from my woman spirit to yours I want to share about this work but it takes me time usually to get into the heart of it. This predator/ prey/ victim/ perpetrator/ power/ disempowered/empowerment work is a language of its own at first so bear with me. In the end we recognize our present work around this. Whether you are drawn here as a path or simply want to know what is happening in the women's world of empowerment work, here is my message to the women who are here.

What is Women in Power? This is a fierce women's container that is both safe and challenging. Most of us have internal voices that can be critical, judgmental and even annihilating that we battle with on the inside. And in the hardest situations occur when this energy can sometimes by accident leak to the outside of us hurting our loved ones and ourselves. Or we are on the look out for where these dark energies may want to hurt us from our past experiences and waste our valuable energy in a kind of vigilance to keep ourselves externally safe not realizing that it comes from an internal predator scaring us inside as we look for it mirrored on the outside. Many of us are just plain scared in a world that is filled with war and violence of our anger and anyone else's. And yet, it is all around us and within us. What are we going to do in the place where we can have more of our power as women in the world and find some gold in our dark places? This is has been one of my life contributions to face our dilemma straight on. It is true descension work but when we come out of it, we are more whole than ever. Whoever thought to look for our goodness in the darkest of all places?

Women in Power is a safe a ritual container where we as women are able to explore and heal some of our darkest shadows. It is where women work on that strange shaming place we sometimes have going even in our best selves where we feel shamed because we judge ourselves as bad, so we act really good and believe still that we are bad. ? How do we rewire here? Sometimes it comes by grace and sometimes we need a place to work with it among the amazing company of other women. But not in the way we've been doing it. It's okay to be the bitch here you always thought you were, on purpose now during the initiation. But imagine too that it is also a place where you are safe. Curious huh? And it is a place where the darkest shadows, the most violent rage, the deepest grief and the most brilliant and authentic joy surfaces. ??? I am not kidding. I've got to be one of the luckiest women in the world to see the miracles that happen here for women. It is brave and courageous work ~ it is gut work, it is real. It is a place that we don't need to apologize for our power and is held with the integrity that in your core you are good once you don't need to fight so hard the knowing of just how bad you could be if you finally revealed the worst of it. If this is confusing to you, it is no wonder because shadow is the place where we have disowned something that we do not want or choose to recognize in ourselves. Then it becomes projected onto others because we fear it in ourselves. Women in Power is about coming home to it all and owning the worst of ourselves to finally get to the best of ourselves.

The work is facilitated by six skilled Shadow Work facilitators and as many as twenty women on staff for 27 participants. It happens only three times a year but women from all over the world have participated. I am an original co-founder of Women in Power so you can look at my website and my profile as I am over twenty years in now with women's empowerment, ritual and community based work.

The work is true liberation work in the most glorious ways. It comes from the premise that at some time in our life we make a vow never to be like the one that hurt you. Smart thinking. But in doing so, we are sometimes left with some interesting backlash that resembles with our power throwing the baby out with the bath water. We can be left with the only archetypal energy that we see as good, kind, giving, and that is what we name here is as prey energy because it often lacks an energy that can confront, stand up to, and be powerful in the face of large energies. Instead it can be sacrificial of one's gift for the benefit of all. Or sometimes we make a vow not to be like the one we judge is weaker (prey) and then we end up in a place where we are missing our more vulnerable aspects of self too although we are able to be strong and guarded warrioresses.
In Women in Power, we tease apart what we judge as healthy and unhealthy aspects of archetypal predator/prey circuitry that interrupts our fuller choices of what is possible at any given moment when we face life situations in order to give you your innate power to be both powerful and vulnerable again. This includes what we are doing with our sexual energies as well. Any place actually that you are not freely able to express or be the powerful woman that you were born to be are given the opportunity of 360 degree choice again about what you want to do and who you are.
But first we need to revisit sometimes our past to find out about that original vow that we made when we lost something of our power. We’ve done the inner child work and maybe laid some boundaries down as warrior to our perpetrator(s) but hardly ever have we journeyed to the place where we OWN the inner perpetrator, inner predator that stalks us on the inside even with our vow not to be like that. Here is where we see women re-establish safety from internally and come to a place where she can revel in her power in all ways as she chooses allowing her innate goodness and not her fear that she is really “bad” to the bone be what leads her life. This lurking fear often is the driving force for us to be good. Let's redefine good and be "good" at being our authentic selves where we are also powerful, giving, courageous, strong, brilliant and bold. Huh? Are we ready for that?
The work is a rare container to do the kind of deep work that we’ve been waiting for but maybe we either haven’t seen it or we haven’t been ready. If you want to more womeninpowerprogram.com or my listing under events. It is almost full and it has a waitlist most of the time.

If this is not where you are at because you already freed your self up inside this way, check out Daughters of the Earth Gathering; a Women's Tribal Event too in Massachusetts that happens the following weekend. Here is where we celebrate our power and enact with support our deepest visions and dreams among the good company of wildwomen. Blessings my sisters (and brothers too who are reading this ~ if you are interested, Mankind Project (MKP) holds a men's initiation that is similar but on the warrior archetype)! ALisa

Hi,

Im a journalist/therapist based in Mumbai, India. Just wanted to share something - a movement you can call it - I started 5 years ago.

What started off as a newspaper column titled Connect-Ticket that I wrote and still continue to write, has over the years grown to become a global online healing network by the same name.

Connect-Ticket is a forum which attempts to link one person's positivity with another's and thereby form a huge global band of positivity. It functions as a non-religious global healing group that explores the power of prayer.

The group's based in Mumbai, but all the members - hailing from different nationalities and linked to each other purely by thought - are connected via a yahoogroups site. I invite you'll to join in and strengthen this movement, if of course, you'll feel convinced of the mission.

This article, which was published recently, will give you an idea of what this group is all about.

Here's the link:
http://www.chemburghatkoparplus.com/fullStory.asp?articleID=CGP4ART632006

If anybody is interested, you are welcome to get in touch with me

Thanks
I'm totally done. Again.

6 years ago I quit my job and vowed not to ever work in claims again.

This time I mean it.

If all goes well, I can be debt-free and be able to quit this horriffic career in about 4 or 5 years. I'll be 47 or 48.

Then what?

Does it Matter??

Question - Does it matter and how does it matter if the following argument is correct

David Brin in "Transparent Society" makes the following argument. That in fact we are "raised to rebel". The way this happens points back to suggesting that the media is pro-individual. He goes on against (frequent out cries,) he offers the following bet - "you can't cite a single popular book or film from the last decade whose professed message is conformity.

While, he goes on, we could stay here all night listing famous novels, movies, and TV shows revolving around a single idea: that it is admirable to be independent-minded, eccentric, even defiant. The major lessons extol:

* other is better than self
* rebellion can be more honorable than obedience
* independent thinking is admirable, even when mistaken
* authority should always be held in deep suspicion

To some degree we want and need to be tied to others, so fitting in is not a bad thing. We are basically social therefore wheither we claim it or not the full force of the above lesson runs up against the reality of our social nature - "got to be around someone!" So why not them over there. There always going be a mix of some sort or other brewing with some or other purpose in mind.

Tell me what you think - does the conspiracy hurt us?

I am 29 years old and I feel like I am 3 again, everything is so new, new perspectives, new expiriences, new job, new kitten, new people in my life. I feel like I am on a verge of something, something that I can hardly contain. I am now getting along with my mother after a long ( 5 years) angry period. I am dating a lot. I am ready to really dig into making the short films I have always wanted to make. I am begining work with a life coach tonight actually. I am exhausted by the possibilities. No wonder I spend the weekends having to nap and chill all day.
I am in a really hot , volitile period and it scares me a bit.
I need to do more yoga, get more messages.
No real question here, I just feel like I am manifesting as fast as I can and on one level I am just here for the ride. Did this happen to you in the 27-29 year phase. What can I do to make it go smoothly but also really productively?

Perspective

This evening, in front of my computer, I sit here full of thoughts and memories of challenges, triumphs, and failures (which so often lead to more triumphs).

Perspective. All these thoughts have come down to that one word. Perspective.

I typically have a certain perspective on life and a way of embracing each day, each moment, which does not give in to anything negative and does not embrace that which is bad for me. I reach out for beauty, kindness, compassion, and love without letting trivial little steps along the way trip me up.

I have been getting lost in the little things, possibly even at times feeling overwhelmed by things that should be allowed little or no impact on my life.

Stirred in me are thoughts and emotions which, right this very minute, are helping me to remember what perspective I have chosen to have on the world, to have on my life.

It isn't a proud feeling to realize my head has been briefly up my, well, you know. So I'll be getting that out now.

Trying to start again. My life has been shaken up and dumped from a basket with whatever was broken the third time now. I reared my children by myself and went to college to do a degree as an adult student--my youngest child started college and I started a new career--I thought...actually I was only being used as a pawn. Now--overcomming physicalproblems, health problems, age discrimination, and recovering from an emotional fall--and still all alone--I know nowhere to start other than with my art. but I don't know how to even begin to market and have no $$$$. Lost my home -furniture-everything--to old to start an education in engineering or architecture--to tired to do the law thing--returning to my roots--Help!!

Boy it seems Xmas has a way of getting people into their money stuff.

Many people (several clients) have been talkng about their challenges with money right now.

I have a question to the members, who here earns a healthy income doing what they totally love to do? Or, if you are having money challenges, do you work at a job or career that you dislike? What is the corellation between the two if any. I have some ideas around it, and would like to hear from others and their experiences.

i am a single male who has had his heart broke in the past, but i am optimistic, that it isn't all females that are bad, and that it is a compatibility problem. often times we mistake attraction for love or feelings and later we find and live to regret that we had nothing in common other than mutual attraction.
but we must keep getting up and trying again, trying to find that true love, the one that you could truly not live without, the love beyond words, an intertwining of souls that extends beyond the deepest depth and to the highest point, not life or death could change these feelings, two souls in love for all eternity!!!
I truly believe that this exists and it is there to be found.

Your Life Purpose is a day-by-day affair

YOUR DAILY NUMEROLOGY ORGANIZER

Every day offers you a new vibration for your work or play.
If you know your Destiny Number you can play this game.

THIS IS HOW IT WORKS

Combine your Destiny number with the current calendar
number. If today is December 1, 2005, the energy pattern
for the day is calculated thusly:

12/01/2005 = 3+1+7 = 11 = 2.
So this is an #2 day.
Combine that number with your Destiny number, and you
have your daily numerology organizer number.

HOW TO FIND YOUR DESTINY NUMBER?

Each letter in the name you currently go by has a
corresponding number. Add all the numbers in
you name. Reduce that to a single digit.

A	J	S	=	1

B	K	T	=	2

C	L	U	=	3

D	M	V	=	4

E	N	W	=	5

F	O	X	=	6

G	P	Y	=	7

H	Q	Z	=	8

I	R =	9

My name yields #9.

DESTINY NUMBER AND DAILY NUMBER

My #9 combines with December 1's #2.
The combination yields #11 - Self-Mastery
December 1, 2005 is a Self-Mastery day for me.

THIS TELLS ME

I must stay focused in my interactions with others,
as well as with myself. Not get caught up in emotions,
neither hot with anger nor feverish with love.
Stay cool is the motto.

Not get intellectually lost in a maize of details.
Stay cool, observant and in charge of myself.

Be acutely aware of the way things are, not to lose
myself in the allure of fantasy projects.

This day for me is not a day to be in lala-land.

WHAT IS TODAY LIKE FOR YOU?

If this is a #1 day for you, then you ought to be
initiating a project that serves your needs.
Forget about your friends for a bit, at least for today.
Start something new for you. Whatever that may be.
Begin reading that book that's been sitting at your
beside all these months. Go for a hike in the mountains
by yourself. Enjoy your own company. Give yourself a day
at the spa. But if you have to be at your 9 -5 place, only
do those chores that please the heck out of you.

If this is a #2 day for you, then you need to focus on
being even-keeled for the day. Don't get thrown by
Susie's temper tantrum. Be a rock while everyone else
is going nuts. Walk tenderly on the earth. Don't try
to climb any mountains. Tackle the easy problems.
Leave the hard ones for tomorrow.

If this is a #3 day for you, then you are free to tackle
the thorny issues. Today is your creative day.
A good day to fix the washing machine.
Start writing that book.
Brainstorm with your boss.
Figure out which pony to bet on.
Make that great holiday plan.

If this is a #4 day for you, then it's your turn to hold up
the world. For you are the stable one in the crowd.
Look self-assured. You can do it today. Whatever is
required. Spend the evening with your wild kids. They will
love climbing all over you, cause you won't crumble. Not
this day. Stand up at the committee meeting and speak your
truth. You are no pushover today.

If this is a #5 day for you, then it's the best day to be
fully active in your work or play. Your energy is high.
It's your action day You are able to wrestle with the
giants today. You can make waves. The world will wonder
at your boundless energy.

If this is a #6 day for you, then it's a good time to visit
grandma, for you are full of compassion. This is your day
to take care of everyone. Be a broad shoulder for the
hurting ones in your life. You could be doing good charity
work today. Your heart is open. Even the birds in your park
will feel your good vibes.

If this is a #7 day for you, then feel happy you are taking
your university entrance exams today. This is the day your
mental acumen is at its highest. Your boss will marvel at the
intricacies and the brilliance of the report you are making
this morning. When he reads it tomorrow he will want to make
you head of the department…and that will be fortuitous
because…

If this is a #8 day for you, then your leadership qualities
are shining like brass buttons. Everyone will be looking to
you for direction. You could lead an expedition into the
toughest jungle and no one would worry following you. Your
confidence is fortified by your uncanny ability to make
things happen. A true captain of industry. If you are a
musician, you could be asked to take over as conductor.

AND FINALLY

If this is a #9 day for you, then you ought to don your
finest apparel, for you will be noted as the great
humanitarian in your circles. Others will feel your
beneficent vibes and honor you with signs of genuine
affection. This is your day to dispense with any form
of standoffishness. Even if you are a died in the wool
introvert, no one will ignore you. All will want to bask
in the glow of your unconditional love. Be prepared to see
flowers strewn in your path.

Express Who You Really Are

Every desire reveals your true nature.

Every day you want to do many things, from hugging your lover to earning money. Why? What feeling underlies all your hopes and dreams? This feeling is the tension between who you really are and who you assume yourself to be.

Consider your desire for intimate relationship. There are many reasons for engaging in a relationship. But you only feel utterly fulfilled in intimacy when you and your lover trust each other so much that you are willing to let down your guards, open your hearts, and love. This is your deepest desire in intimacy because, in truth, you are open as love—but you assume yourself to be a separate, isolated individual. So you scheme and dream to experience in your relationship what, in truth, you already are.

You want to enjoy financial security because, in truth, you are abundance, although you assume only effort will provide a feeling of ease. You enjoy dangerous sports because in every moment you are at the edge of death—the ultimate edge of winning or losing—and yet your assumed security makes you seek risks. You want to eat chocolate because, deep in your heart, you are blissful fullness, though you often close to its pleasure and so seek its taste.

Through your daily round, you seek to approximate the truth of who you are that you have lost touch with. This drama of approximation is the story of your life. You never quite succeed like you hope to. You never quite get the love you really want. And so you either try harder or give up trying. In either case, you are missing the point of existence.

The open expression of who you really are is the only thing that will free you from the stress of feeling incomplete. In truth, you are what you want.

The farther you wander from who you truly are, the more craven you become for the qualities you miss. Since you can’t feel the love that lives you, you look to your lover to cherish you. Divorced from your home of unlimited openness, you seek to expand the sphere of your power, the size of your portfolio, the borders of your country. Desiring the freedom of inherent ease, you try to discharge stress through masturbation, conversation, and secret habits of release. You miss the simplicity of being, so you seek it in the warmth of a heroin rush, a fluffy bed, or a ritual cup of coffee.

At times, you fret over your appearance, seeking to find the radiance you truly are. You think to yourself constantly, providing a reflection of your own presence. Yet, in truth, you are utter presence, whether or not you reflect yourself by thinking.

Whenever you are ready, you can stop trying to find what you are precluding and start being who you are in truth. To surrender so completely to be who you are is terrifying—your self-image instantly vanishes. Yet it is the only way to live that is real. Otherwise, in every moment of missing who you truly are, you create a self-image that isn’t the real thing. You feel a lack. This tension of deficiency can wind into an intense twist of desire. Eventually, you can become quite warped.

Craving the depth that you miss, you may find yourself engaging in crime, lying, self-abuse, and terrorizing others—or perhaps just sitting in front of the TV and eating cookies. No matter how extreme or mediocre your misplaced efforts become, you can always open as your source. In the midst of stealing, for instance, you can open as the abundance of life-force that you are. How will you act as abundant fullness? Open as you are, your twist unwinds.

In your most wound-up, naughty moments of sicko indulgence, as well as in your common round of daily drudge, you are only missing who you truly are. Through years of moment-by-moment practice, you can open as every twist and hope. You can live open as love, alive as spontaneous blessing.

What you want is who you are. Open as you are without hesitation.

I was just curious is anyone else here is religious at all. I am a Christian, and I feel like there has to be some purpose I am here for, something more than what I'm doing now.
What are God's plans for me? How do I know I'm on the right path?

I was thinking there may be some other Christians, or members of any other religion, that were wondering the same thing.

Anyone?

So is it normal to be very shaky about your life's purpose at 24? I just graduated college, am looking towards grad school but, honestly, I almost feel like I've never been more lost in my life. Perhaps I am finally becoming jaded with adulthood? I just don't know. Any thoughts?

when i was enrolled in a school of the martial arts, enrolled at UNCC in post-bach psych classes, a member of a (somewhat too yuppified for my taste) social activities organization, more active at the local Unitarian church, i was getting some Needs met that are not now being met. for one thing, just that neurochemicalemotionalcognitivespiritual high of doing things that i didn't feel totally confident in doing... i do miss that. everything is so routine right now. so predictible. i'm not really being challenged. except the challenge of slogging through the grey mundanity of an uncomfortably large proportion of each day.

i think i'm just starting to realize that for me, the Act of facing the Unknown and meeting difficult Challenges generates for me experiences of passion, inspiration, Awareness, Magick, hightened Reality, and Meaningfulness.

i've cut out almost all of that out of my life for budgetary reasons and also just because of being tired from work, chores, obligations, and daily living responsibilities. that is definitely going down the WRONG Path. WRONG WRONG WRONG!!! that is, in fact, a failure to meet my True Responsibilities. the Responsibilites of Cultivating a vibrant, passionate, inspired, and Authentic Self, so that i have vibrant, passionate, inspiring, and Authentic Energy to offer to the people in my life and to the World, the One Interdependent Universal System.

Has Anyone Ever Felt

That they give off Negative Energy? and People avoid them at all costs? Can a Aura exist that shuns others from getting to know you, For who you really are?

I've had two experiences, I would like to share, Sometime ago while driving home early in the morning and thinking of Life and Happiness, The Dawn was just breaking as it was cloudy that morning, all of a sudden the clouds broke open, and I thought to myself "You will never be Happy in this world or in my Lifetime.

The next time was a person who I knew casually said to me " You are going to Die a Lonely Man" I wonder what did he see that caused him to think and say that? So far his predictions have been accurate. It is like living with a 'Black Cloud' that refuses to pass... Has anyone ever had similiar thoughts or feeling? I'm Curious

When I was growing up it used to be finishing school and then having a family and now that I have a family and I am almost done with school, I feel like there isn't much else to accomplish. Is this a normal feeling. I feel like my hope is lost and I'm at a dead end. What should I do to get the feeling of accomplishment back?

Calling and Gifts

I have a theological school education. One of my first compulsory classes in div school addressed the question of "call."

As an artist, I already understood the concept of a calling, because I had witnessed how writing and music had both chosen me before I chose either of them.

I am not a theist per se, so I never understood my call as being *from* "God" in any personal sense--it took me a couple years to become comfortable with the proposition that one can be called *to* something without having been called *by* anyone.

But I understood this pretty well from the start: I believe that one's gifts are one's marching orders.

Not everybody enjoys what they are good at (I'm good at math when I apply myself to it, but I don't enjoy applying myself to it), but in general, and especially when one is casting about for direction, the easiest way to identify the task at hand is to look in your hand and see what tool has been placed there: if it's a hammer, look for nails; if it's a saw, look for wood... and set yourself to it.

One way to identify one's gifts is this: Our gifts are things that we're good at without even trying to be. In fact, we often make the mistake that we are *not* good at our gifts precisely because they are effortless to us.

But because we're good at them, we can easily spot the weaknesses in the things we're gifted at, and we redouble our efforts in applying ourselves to them, thinking we need to *get* good at them, when in reality we already *are* good at them.

Another part of this is that our greatest weaknesses are not really weaknesses at all: They are strengths that we are misapplying. If they were truly weaknesses, they wouldn't make themselves manifest. It is precisely because they are strengths that they glare as they do.

Every "weakness" is an unredeemed strength--a shadow of an admirable quality.

I talk about this all the time but rarely write it down. It's about time I did!

Hello everyone. I just thought I would introduce myself since I've already posted a few things in some of the threads.

I am sooooo happy that I have found ya'll and already the things I have read have helped sooooooo much. I won't go into details (I just found out I'm a Guardian and we take care of OTHER people) but just say that I've been through some very difficult times -physically and emotionally- and I'm starting to take care of me for a change. Those Myers Briggs tests (and ones like it) are very accurate.

So please, don't hesitate to say HI and if you need a friend, just let me know. And I could use all the friends I can get!!! Thanks for being here.

Had an amazing discussion last night with a friend. She has just turned 51 and feels she is now on 'the other side' of her life. She was in great fear about it and was looking at all the things in life she still desires to do and wanting to get at it.

Like many she has all the trappings, grown kids, a career, a nice place to live, and she still feels like there is so much more. With only a limited amount of time left in her life.

I feel a lot of people at this stage of their life feels many of the same things.

She was aking me what to do about it. I admit, I struggled to find an answer to her question, or to offer insights into her viewing her own mortality.

Any insights anyone?
a lil advice for a wandering soul =)

I've dreamed of traveling for a while now. My soul never loved the corporate world working at Geico and I freed myself. Took off to Arizona, travled around for a few weeks. Moved back to VA to care for my Mom. She's all better after a few months now i'm back on the road. While I was in VA I had a great opportunity working for Intregal Yoga a very new age openminded store. I purchased a full seven bowl crystal singing bowl set. They are incredible for meditation and I hope to share them in my travels. I also met a really awsome woman online while searching where I wished to travel. So I left for a week and ended up meeting this woman in Salt Lake. No... she's not mormon hehe .
She is a really cool chick I dig her and i've been here for the past couple weeks living with her. Split rent with her which did hurt my budget as i've not yet found a job. Ultimately I feel like she's kinda drawn me into a serious relationship i'm not ready for. I've tried to talk to her and shes come at me with some serious reactions. She showed me how big of a bitch she can be which she admits... Virgos... /sigh. But I don't think I can deal with that or really want that.
Let me shut up now and get to it...

I believe my lifes mission is to serve. God... the Tao... Humanity... whatever. I'm very spiritual no particular denomination if I had to pick I would be Taoist. In meditation I am constantly reminded my mission is to be selfless. This is something i'm slowly growing into and is amazing. The bowls helped me a lot allowing me to really help and share something with people. Now I want to further my selflessness, letting go of my ego, building on my future skills as an artist. I'm ready to travel if needs be or stay in Salt Lake. I don't think i'm meant to be with this woman which I will tell her shortly.
If you have any advice of some great places, communities, monestaries, schools, or a couch to lend? I think i'd like to continue west as i've never been to California. I also really wanna see Montana, Oregon, Washington... ok hell I wanna go everywhere.

Anyway much love, thanks for reading my plight.
"Argue for your limitations,
and sure enough they are yours" Richard Bach
I"m done arguing...
Peace & Love
