I thought I had learned so much that I was wise and that I could find true love. I was really connected to buddhism for a while, it helped me so much. I decided to get a job and save up to get some security. What can I say? I lost my mojo, I lost my will to go on at points... I am not living the life I wish to live. At times I feel dissapointed that I am so dark, I should be rejoicing that I am still here, but I feel like a walking ghost. I am getting to serious, hybernating and hiding from the party. I am a painter but have no inspiration at the moment. I used to be the Life of the party so what happend? How can I get my spirit back? Now I have $ and want to move to start my new life, but I don't know where to go or what to do. Im getting pulled to various towns throught out the western states. Any recommendations, and has this every happend to any of you?

Now for the first time in a very long time all the cosmic fields are level, karma is good, the goddess is pleased with me and I have no worries!!!
Even though I have 12 years college finding work in the USA is/will be hard considering the economy. I have taken great pleasure in teaching at Universities but it is hard to get in as for art teachers (even though I have taught other subjects) it cost around 50-60 dollars per application to apply. I have since worked as a mental health Professional to give back and to help those in need..but no longer feel that calling. I will be returning to the US at the end of April..to Northern Indiana where I was borrn. I have moved across the country and to various states for work.
I have moved around so much I thought HOME would be a place where I have found my "LIFE PURPOSE" but so for thos purposes have been temporary. I know seem lost and no longer a young man as I am 48....I worry about life purpose and don't know what mine is. Originally, the plan was to teach on a reservation and give back to my people...I applied to dozens for over 5 years and with letters of rejection found or at least it seemed that was not my purpose..what is my purpose? I wish I knew..any advice?
Moving around for years and years friends came and went..family died..and has frown apart..some moved. where is home and what is my life purpose?
(February 21 to March 6, 2008)

Just imagine your airplane touching down at the India airport of your choice – Mumbai or Ahmadabad – on Thursday, February 21, 2008. Awaiting you at the airport is your guide, who will escort you by rail or taxi to your hotel accommodations in Surat City, Gujarat State. You will have arrived just in time to take in the World Yoga Championships, either as a participant or as a spectator. If anyone wishes to participate in the Championships the necessary registration forms can be downloaded at www.lifemission.org. The Championships run from February 22 though February 24. (The Championships were primarily founded as a means for encouraging youth worldwide to engage themselves in the ageless science of yoga for the betterment of body, mind and spiritual development in similar fashion that society worldwide encourages youth to participate in common sporting events.)

Following the Championships, you will be escorted to Malav Ashram for a five night stay, which includes three days of “hands on” yogic training under the expert guidance of Acharya Yogendradev, who has taught in North America, Taiwan, and India

And now – the Tours – you will tour the historic spiritual pilgrimage site of Kayavarohan and visit the Brahmeshwar Temple of Lord Lakulish (the 28th incarnation of Lord Shiva). You will spend 5 nights at a beautiful oceanside resort near the city of Div, overlooking the Indian Ocean with its miles of sandy beaches, and visit surrounding points of interest including the renowned Somnath Temple; a lion wildlife reserve, an ayurvedic clinic of a renowned ayurvedic physician where you will be able to observe the natural preparation of ayurvedic medicines and receive a free medical check-up. You will also have the opportunity to visit the temple complex at Rajrajeshwardham, where Lord Lakulish materialized in his divine body on January 29, 2007. Then – another great grace awaits you – you will have the rare opportunity of having darshan with the highly advanced yogi, Swami Rajarshi Muni.*

Now your yoga trip is reaching its end – on March 6, you will be escorted by your guide to your departure airport for your trip home – to reflect on and absorb your many yoga experiences of the past 2 weeks; the multitudes of wondrous Indian sites you've seen; the unmatched hospitality of its people and the many lasting new friendships you've made.

The cost per participant is $ 695.00 USD. This price does not include your transportation costs to and from India, which is entirely your responsibility, as are any required passports, visas etc. This price does include designated tour accommodations and meals in India, and all ground transportation to the Championships and touring sites in India, as well as ground transportation to and from airports at Mumbai or Ahmedabad. Any profits after all costs have been met will be directed to projects for the poor, including schools and hospitals. For further information, go to www.lifemission.org, or email: Acharya Yogendradev, ggvaghela@yahoo.com; or Dennis Konchak, lifema@telus.net; or Hans Splinter, Hsplinter@cogeco.ca.

* Swami Rajarshi Muni is the author of a vast library of nearly 100 titles in four different languages, including ten books in English. Some of the English titles are: Classical Hatha Yoga, Divine Body Through Yoga; Tenets for the Spiritual Life; Infinite Grace (The Story of My Spiritual Lineage), Awakening the Life Force, and Light from Guru to Disciple.
Dealing with the Holiday Blues

Below I have provided some information and 26 tips to help.

The holiday season can be a difficult time for many. Dealing with feelings such as stress and loneliness during the holiday season can take its toll. It is meant to bring joy and celebration but sometimes this time of year can bring sadness and despair. Changes in life, such as being separated from family and friends, or living through the grief of a loss can be especially hard.

Holiday blues are also thought to be primarily caused by expectation and comparison along with a lack of planning and action. People generally have high expectations for the holidays. We often hope that they will make up for a year gone wrong. We expect family members to become friendly, season’s greetings to be sent, gifts to be given, and happiness to reign. The mass media, through news stories, TV specials, and advertising, raise this hope for "what may be." The reality of "what is" often falls short of the expectation and there is disappointment.

Negative memories may also be associated to the holiday season and those suffering with depression and other mood disorders can be affected at this time of year due to change of day light.

Many people are lonely at this time of year if they are working or going to school without a way to get back to your family for the holiday season. You may have not been in Vancouver long enough to make many friends. It can be hard to find comfort.

Characteristics of “The Blues” are emotions—sadness, loneliness, depression, anxiety—and, although intense and unsettling, are generally short-lived and usually subside within a few weeks once a daily routine is resumed.

Other symptoms of the holiday blues may include:
•	headaches
•	inability to sleep or sleeping too much
•	changes in appetite causing weight loss or gain
•	agitation and anxiety
•	excessive or inappropriate feelings of guilt
•	diminished ability to think clearly or concentrate
•	decreased interest in activities that usually bring pleasure, such as:
o	food
o	sex
o	work
o	friends
o	hobbies
o	entertainment

The most important things to remember are: it's a normal response to a stress-filled time of the year and you don't have to suffer unnecessarily. If you anticipate feeling very lonely on Christmas Day or Christmas Eve, there are ways that you can help yourself feel better and survive the holiday season.

1.	Volunteering offers a way to interact with others, give to the community, and help keep your spirits up through giving. The Union Gospel Mission, Salvation Army, Carnegie Community Centre, or various churches will provide Christmas dinners and benefit by receiving help from volunteers. This is a good way to help yourself by not being alone and by helping others in need.

2.	If you are in a new community, try to get an invitation somewhere for Christmas. Let others know that you would enjoy having dinner with them.

3.	Invite someone to join you in celebration.

4.	Find out what the community offers and participate in it. Go to the concerts and parades. Get involved.

5.	Takes gifts to a children’s home.

6.	Be active by going for walks. Getting some exercise keeps mood levels up. Don’t stay cooped up inside too long. 20 minutes of exercise every day will raise endorphin levels and allow you to absorb what sunshine there is.

7.	Be aware of your diet - try not to overindulge in alcohol or sweets. Alcohol and sugar can really affect mood and brings on ‘moodiness’.

8.	Get enough rest: general self-care of the body is important.

9.	Organize your time: make lists and prioritize.

10.	If you are going home to be with family, bad memories might come up that can be really stressful. Take items from your current home that you have positive associations with. This might be a teddy bear, pictures of friends, a good book, or candles. Anything to help you feel more comfortable.

11.	Planning time away from family. If you are going for a few days, it can be stressful. Getting away can help to lessen the stress.

12.	If you find that you fall back into old patterns when you are around family members, it can he helpful to remember that you are an adult now and you have the ability to behave and respond in a different way. Spend some time planning ahead. What kinds of circumstances will occur that might bring up old feelings?

13. Be Prepared. There may be certain things that happen every year that drive you up the wall. This year, talk to the people involved ahead of time and try to defuse those situations before they occur.

14.	If finances are a concern, be aware of this and set reasonable limits.

15.	If there is a significant loss that you are reminded of this time of year, such as a death in the family or a divorce, it can be helpful not to push it away and pretend it didn’t happen. Recognize that there was a loss and take time to acknowledge it. Create a healthy way of remembering. Examples could include putting out favorite photographs and light a candle before them.

16.	If you are in a new city or find yourself lonely, try to create new memories for yourself. You may enjoy events around the city such as the Festival of Lights at VanDusen Botanical Garden.
(Dates and times: 4:30 to 9 p.m. every night, December 7th, 2007 through January 1st, 2008 except December 25th when the Garden is closed.)

17.	Another tool to help you get through the Holiday Blues is to remember that the Christmas season will pass.

18.	Also, remember that winter will pass. Winter does not last forever.

19.	Remember to take your medication. Also, taking a multi-vitamin and fish oil capsules daily can contribute to overall health and keep stress down. Other vitamin supplements such as Vitamin D or a B Complex can be helpful for mood.

20.	Keep yourself busy to take your mind of things if that helps. Make plans to go out for lunch, go for walks, go to the movies or even curl up at home and watch a movie.

21.	If you are suffering from clinical depression, getting some help can be beneficial this time of the year. Go to see a therapist, look for a support group, or contact the mental healthy team in your area. Get as much help and support as you can.

22.	Give yourself a break -- plan to prepare (or buy) one special meal, purchase one special gift, and take in one special event.

23.	If you don’t like shopping, shop online or make gifts.

24.	Do your best not to create unrealistic expectations and don’t get caught up in comparisons.

25. Find someone to talk with who can help you through this difficult time -- a family member, friend, a spiritual leader, or professional counsellor.

26.	Call a crisis line in your time of need: Vancouver area 604-872-3311.

If somebody makes you happy today, the same person will make you unhappy tomorrow. You are happiness and peace personified. Find that happiness and peace within you."

—His Holiness Sri Swami Satchidananda
This means that all the happiness we have experienced through outward means (other people, places and lowest of all 'things') is just a stimulation of our own inner happiness. This also means any happiness you experienced through these outward means is always inside you. All your great memories are there to reflect upon what a wonderful gift of life and 'free will' we have been given to reach our highest goal: self realization that we are: ever conscoius, ever aware, and ever blissful: satchidananda.
We are free, but me must realize this by many means, because most of us are in delusions. Travel is a very important one for most. Because when you travel without those who normally surrond you, family, most intimate relationships, and you are free of desire other than to know they Self through desireless means you lose a big part of your attachment. Travel thousands of miles to a new place where no one knows you. Life is a journey, not a carrear, or an enslavement to lower desires for lust and material things. Life is simple it is the system taught to us which we become entagled in a web of complicated delusions and possessions through weakened will. Life is a vacation to higher awareness. Not service to a system that cares only to enslave you. Still your mind and open your third eye, through yoga, meditation, studying of teachings, and learning to tune into the divine teachings constantly surronding you.
Through the good and bad the universe is always trying to get through to us a message. Through our still minds we are better abled to recieve these messages. Many of us interpret things as good or bad (i still do sometimes) this is the dualistic movie the universe; OM; has created. Up and down, black and white, hot and cold, smooth and rough, reason and feeling, day and night. Evil is that which obstructs the truth of our existence. Evil can be interpreted as misunderstanding of our nature: selfless, endless love. Nothing is bad; we learn from all. "Good things", easy, pleasing things make us appreciative and thankful (at first) that we may live in such a beautiful world. Then comes our suffering, which we have been taught to think of as "bad". These things are not bad because they are teaching us something; always a lesson, and they bring us closer to our Spirit. It is often when we are hurt or lowest we re-orient our values to what really is important to our soul. Sufferings also allow us to appreciate the good even more. Because 'the good' things would become dull and eventually 'bad' if we did not have reminders of our path to create trials. there is a yoga affirmation "each wave of trials only brings me higher" Tis true. That is why you are lucky for all that you recieve; thus it is all good because it is leading to a beautiful, eternal bliss. and it will come sooner if you are open to the messages being sent from all around you.
"When you dont do what you want, then you may do what you like" - Indian master
We must give up the constant demans of the ego: sense pleasures, instant fufillment; and begin what is truley good for us, a devotion to our knowing our Soul; the Self; The Infinite Spirit. "DESTROY WRONG DESIRE NOW LEST IF FOLLOW YOU INTO THE NEXT LIFE" -Swamiji Sri Yukteswar. Dissolve the bubble of the ego into the ocean of spirit.

I literally read this topic today in the book The Power of Intention by Wayne Dyer. Well let me back track a minute... anybody ever heard of the book 'The Purpose Driven Life'? Well I have seen it on just about everybodys bookshelf lately and when I asked a friend who had finished the book what it said, he told me that basically it says that we all have a purpose but there is no way to know what it is. You just have to live your life with purpose blah blah blah. Well as you can see this made me feel like not even reading that book since it seemed like a dead end as far as answers go. Well TODAY I got my answer on this one so thought I would share it with this tribe....

Okay so from the book The Power of Intention, this is what it says:

"As I mentioned, the key question for most of us is 'What is my purpose?' And I hear that question in as many forms as there are people wondering about it: 'What am I supposed to be doing? Should I be an architect, florist, or a veterinarian? Should I help people or fix automobiles? Am I supposed to have a family or be in the jungle saving chimpanzees?' We're befuddled by the endless number of options available to us, and wonder whether we're doing the right thing.

In this chapter, I urge you to forget these questions. Move instead to a place of faith and trust in the universal mind of intention, remembering that you emanated from this mind and that you're piece of it at all times.

Intention and purpose are as beautifully and naturally intertwined as the double helix of your DNA. There are no accidents. You're here for the purpose that you signed up for before you entered the world of particles and form. Many of the things that you refer to as problems result from the fact that you're disconnected from intention to live your life on purpose. As you cleanse this link you'll make two very important discoveries. First, you'll discover that your purpose is not as much about what you do as how you feel. Your second discovery will be that feeling on purpose activates your power of intention to create anything that's consisten with the seven faces of intention.

In response to the question 'what should I do with my life?', I suggest that there's only one thing that you can do with it, since you came into this life with nothing and you'll leave with nothing: YOU CAN GIVE IT AWAY. You'll feel most on purpose when you're giving your life away by serving others. When you're giving to others, to your planet, and to your Source, you're BEING purpose-ful. Whatever it is that you choose to do, if you're motivated to be of service to others while being authentically detached from the outcome, you'll feel on purpose, regardless of how much abundance flows back to you.'

This is an awesome new perspective to take and I am excited to put this into practice. I hope this has helped!

Peace and Wellness,

~Julie Adame

So, without boring you too much with the details, I have been trying to figure out a way to pursue a new career the past 8 months or so. In retrospect, I have not gone about it the best way. However, here I am. I have reached a crossroads on the path to a new career. My question to you all is: what would you do? My options are to cash out half of my retirement savings to attend school for the next 2 years (I was refused student lines of credit and loans because they said I had too much retirement money...no options for scholarships from the school until the 2nd year of study) OR to work in a career I don't like and go to school part-time (which of course means it will take longer and possibly be more difficult to manage).

I guess part of me says, it's just money, so cash it out and get doing what I want to do sooner rather than later. But the cautious part of me worries that cashing out that money would be a mistake, especially if I can still achieve my ultimate goal in the end. And I worry that without the loan I expected I could receive, things will be very tight. I should add that I don't have TONS of retirement money, do not come from a wealthy family, etc., so I don't have a security blanket should things go awry. Any words of wisdom, encouragement, shared experience, etc. are most welcome :)

Please use www.railwaychildren-friends.com/email.asp as a search engine for your internet searches and you'll raise a massive 10p per search! please set it as your homepage for ease of use and start raising money today ;)

You can have a snoop on the charities efforts at www.railwaychildren.org.uk

They are mainly a preventative charity which in terms of being a street child can mean the difference between a world of pain and heartache and a life worth living. Railway children endeavour to meet runaway children before pimps, pushers or abusers do. They are even getting to help the kids in Siberia who are living in the sewers.

80% of their money goes straight to the projects, 17% fundraising, 3% admin etc, so they are a 'fair-enough-trade' charity.

10p a search is phenomenal and it means that the average amount spent per child -£44- will take 440 searches...its fairly usual for me to search 20 items per evening, so that means in 22 evenings that ground level support for a child is reached. www.railwaychildren-friends.com/email.asp

There is a snag with the search page which is that on entering a search it automatically redirects to a normal search page for the results. So inorder that you keep raising money for the charity you have to go back to the root page with the picture of the child and the green bits for each new search subject to raise another all important 10p.

Thanks very much for your efforts and please do enjoy your days. Also if there are any forums that you can forward this message or indeed your own personal email contacts please do send this on, more the better. ;) *

We’ve all been in situations where we find ourselves behaving in ways we know is either contrary to the good of the moment, or not in line with what would be most healing. In these moments our egos are in the driver’s seat. We are driven by our ego’s need for validation and instant gratification. To act outside of our egos is one way in which we can hold our own space. This is often an unfamiliar and difficult task. I have been blessed to have had a recent intense lesson in holding my space.

I’ve had quite an amazing connection with a beautiful and magical man for many years, albeit sporadic. I haven’t seen him in years and he was coming through town with his partner. My task was to be sensitive to his relationship, and not call upon any of our past connection. I knew I’d see this man, but was not sure what form it would take. I was in fear most of the month, preparing for the encounter, or non-encounter that would ensue.

The weekend came. I and some friends attended two concerts this man and his partner put on. There was no drama, and for most of the two nights I was simply happy to be listening to his beautiful music.
There was also a very contrived and rigid lack of recognition. He would not look at me, nor talk to me. This is as I expected.

It wasn’t until the last moment of the final concert night that I got my biggest test. I had held my space well up until that point, not allowing my ego to search for and validate our past connection. The last song brought in some of his amazing magic, and my heart opened in such a beautiful and painful way. Here was magic, magic I had been the recipient of at one point – a magic I was no longer able to touch. I watched my ego go through a small death as I realized this once amazing connection was not for me, not for now. I so desperately wanted simply some eye contact to validate my ego’s belief that I had been special. But there was none of that.

So I watched as this sadness engulfed me, then moved out. Holding my space in that moment, not allowing my ego to receive its validation, offered me a release. In that release I gained more room for myself, and my open heart began to fill with compassion instead of sadness.
I was able to hold some non-judgmental room for the process this man needed to go through for the sake of his current relationship.

My friends were some of my greatest teachers that weekend; grounding me when necessary, role-modeling loving compassion, and offering me unconditional support. I’m grateful to them, and thankful for my lessons.

I used my energetic tools constantly during that experience to help the fear remain fluid and not stick. My tools enabled me to watch and experience my little ego death. And it’s quite ironic that with each of those moments comes more of our own divinity.

A question that often comes up when I teach meditation is “Why should we meditate?” Most of us are aware of the basic benefits related to stress management, relaxation, and improving the overall quality of life. There are a vast amount of meditation practices, philosophies and techniques. But the commonality is that each one leads to the expansion of our spirit by way of neutrality.

Neutrality is a way to live life in present time without the static of fear or judgment. The path to neutrality involves finding tools that bring us out of past experiences and into the present moment. Being in the present gives us the clarity to make choices instead of being stuck in our patterns and belief systems. It also enables us to move through fear with ease, and step out of judgment and into self-love. When we do this we expand our comfort zone and destroy our limits. Once we do this we are free to act from our true potential.

Meditation permits us to look inward at our true selves. For some of us meditation is the only mode that allows self reflection. Through meditation we begin to look at ourselves in neutrality and then see what is limiting us in life. I find that my limits are self-imposed. When I experience fear or function in judgment I am limiting my spirit, life, and self. The more I look at my judgments of others the more I realize I am actually criticizing myself and stunting my growth.

My goal is to be aware of when I am not in the present moment, when I am stuck in fear, and when I am in judgment. If I am aware of these things I can change my behavior pattern and destroy the self-made stifling obstacles. The result is personal growth, which has endless possibilities.

More specifically, it was hypothesized that a profound *********** experience tends to be followed by a major reorientation of one's value system and life outlook. It was further hypothesized that this change in basic beliefs would in terms be followed by slower alterations in personality as well as changes in modal behavior patterns.
The findings so far provide considerable support for the general hypothesis concerning parallel changes in values, personality, and behavior Three days following the *** session, a consistent and reliable increase was found in the extent to which an individual agrees with test items reflecting a deep sense of meaning and purpose in life, open-mindedness, greater aesthetic sensitivity, and sense of unity or oneness with nature and humanity. Decreases were found on values pertaining to material possessions, social status, and dogmatism. Also significant was the finding that changes in personal beliefs either remained constant or became still more prominent at later follow-ups. Thus, it seems safe to conclude that a rapid and extensive change in values does tend to occur in most subjects, and importantly, is maintained over time. "

I 'm wondering who else has experienced something like this, and found balance? Has it ever seemed that following your bliss becomes counterproductive to that which matters most to you? How do you manage to balance your natural interests and talents against the effort required to overcome internal shortcomings and external obstacles?

I’ll be more specific. I live on a beautiful bit of ground in the Smokies of North Carolina. It 's my not-so-original belief that much of the unrest in the world, the war against the planet, the war with each other and the war against ourselves, results from losing our connections with the natural world. To me, it is a very healing thing to work with the soil, to grow food, to observe the native plants as they grow and change during the year and to protect some habitat for the birds and wildlife that share this mountain.

At the same time, even though I 'm a very independent person, I also recognize a sense of isolation and a desire to do something that extends beyond myself, and might be of more lasting value. Especially when what I see a society that suffers from its unhealthy fixations. Still, I continue on the path it seems I'm meant to follow, doing the work I am meant to do…despite the fact that it doesn’t much help other people in need, and despite the fact that it won’t have much lasting effect after I’m gone. Or, to what extent should I neglect THAT work to try to break through to what feels like an alien culture in so many ways? (I don't know anyone around here who wants to raise their own food, it seems they'd be a lot more excited to get a new Wal-Mart!)

I'm curious how this might strike a chord with anyone else. Maybe if you’re an artist, it's that conflict between doing art versus developing the business side of being a professional artist. Anyhow, I'd be curious to hear about the experiences that anyone else has had along these lines, and the ways in which you have arrived at a balance for your life purpose to unfold. (In my own case, I'm not quite sure.) Thanks!

We began a documentary in Paris and Turkey last year, and now as it gets warmer in Turkey we are going to complete it. We have a US distributor, and everyone involved will share in profits. It could be quite profitable for you and a real life changer. We are in pre-production of three others...one on black jazz in Paris after WWII until now. We have a Turkish captain/crew/cook on our 75' Gulet, 6 double staterooms, all with their own head (toilet and shower). Qualifications? Simply to be able to get along with people. Age? Our producer is 60, our editor is 25. Age inmaterial if you are young in spirit. If you have video experience (HD MiniDV PAL and Final Cut Pro, writing) all the better, but we are doing this to perhaps expand the focus of our documentary which is based on the mystical aspects of Alexander the Great - Title: Force of Evidence. Creative people get free reign as long as they don't sink the ship or the project. We are interested to add some human interest...profound, provocative, funny...to the program, so film making experience in not a requirement. Come for a week or two months. Email me for details.

I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.

I did it and within 10 min was crying-- my purpose?--' to give people hope'..hokey maybe and there is no clear set of directions but if that is my purpose than how that manifests in an 'occupation etc', is not really as important as being in a position to give people hope in whatever capacity--So, I challenge you to do the exersize and share what you found.

This marks six years now since I began this international women's initiation and from my woman spirit to yours I want to share about this work but it takes me time usually to get into the heart of it. This predator/ prey/ victim/ perpetrator/ power/ disempowered/empowerment work is a language of its own at first so bear with me. In the end we recognize our present work around this. Whether you are drawn here as a path or simply want to know what is happening in the women's world of empowerment work, here is my message to the women who are here.

What is Women in Power? This is a fierce women's container that is both safe and challenging. Most of us have internal voices that can be critical, judgmental and even annihilating that we battle with on the inside. And in the hardest situations occur when this energy can sometimes by accident leak to the outside of us hurting our loved ones and ourselves. Or we are on the look out for where these dark energies may want to hurt us from our past experiences and waste our valuable energy in a kind of vigilance to keep ourselves externally safe not realizing that it comes from an internal predator scaring us inside as we look for it mirrored on the outside. Many of us are just plain scared in a world that is filled with war and violence of our anger and anyone else's. And yet, it is all around us and within us. What are we going to do in the place where we can have more of our power as women in the world and find some gold in our dark places? This is has been one of my life contributions to face our dilemma straight on. It is true descension work but when we come out of it, we are more whole than ever. Whoever thought to look for our goodness in the darkest of all places?

Women in Power is a safe a ritual container where we as women are able to explore and heal some of our darkest shadows. It is where women work on that strange shaming place we sometimes have going even in our best selves where we feel shamed because we judge ourselves as bad, so we act really good and believe still that we are bad. ? How do we rewire here? Sometimes it comes by grace and sometimes we need a place to work with it among the amazing company of other women. But not in the way we've been doing it. It's okay to be the bitch here you always thought you were, on purpose now during the initiation. But imagine too that it is also a place where you are safe. Curious huh? And it is a place where the darkest shadows, the most violent rage, the deepest grief and the most brilliant and authentic joy surfaces. ??? I am not kidding. I've got to be one of the luckiest women in the world to see the miracles that happen here for women. It is brave and courageous work ~ it is gut work, it is real. It is a place that we don't need to apologize for our power and is held with the integrity that in your core you are good once you don't need to fight so hard the knowing of just how bad you could be if you finally revealed the worst of it. If this is confusing to you, it is no wonder because shadow is the place where we have disowned something that we do not want or choose to recognize in ourselves. Then it becomes projected onto others because we fear it in ourselves. Women in Power is about coming home to it all and owning the worst of ourselves to finally get to the best of ourselves.

The work is facilitated by six skilled Shadow Work facilitators and as many as twenty women on staff for 27 participants. It happens only three times a year but women from all over the world have participated. I am an original co-founder of Women in Power so you can look at my website and my profile as I am over twenty years in now with women's empowerment, ritual and community based work.

The work is true liberation work in the most glorious ways. It comes from the premise that at some time in our life we make a vow never to be like the one that hurt you. Smart thinking. But in doing so, we are sometimes left with some interesting backlash that resembles with our power throwing the baby out with the bath water. We can be left with the only archetypal energy that we see as good, kind, giving, and that is what we name here is as prey energy because it often lacks an energy that can confront, stand up to, and be powerful in the face of large energies. Instead it can be sacrificial of one's gift for the benefit of all. Or sometimes we make a vow not to be like the one we judge is weaker (prey) and then we end up in a place where we are missing our more vulnerable aspects of self too although we are able to be strong and guarded warrioresses.
In Women in Power, we tease apart what we judge as healthy and unhealthy aspects of archetypal predator/prey circuitry that interrupts our fuller choices of what is possible at any given moment when we face life situations in order to give you your innate power to be both powerful and vulnerable again. This includes what we are doing with our sexual energies as well. Any place actually that you are not freely able to express or be the powerful woman that you were born to be are given the opportunity of 360 degree choice again about what you want to do and who you are.
But first we need to revisit sometimes our past to find out about that original vow that we made when we lost something of our power. We’ve done the inner child work and maybe laid some boundaries down as warrior to our perpetrator(s) but hardly ever have we journeyed to the place where we OWN the inner perpetrator, inner predator that stalks us on the inside even with our vow not to be like that. Here is where we see women re-establish safety from internally and come to a place where she can revel in her power in all ways as she chooses allowing her innate goodness and not her fear that she is really “bad” to the bone be what leads her life. This lurking fear often is the driving force for us to be good. Let's redefine good and be "good" at being our authentic selves where we are also powerful, giving, courageous, strong, brilliant and bold. Huh? Are we ready for that?
The work is a rare container to do the kind of deep work that we’ve been waiting for but maybe we either haven’t seen it or we haven’t been ready. If you want to more womeninpowerprogram.com or my listing under events. It is almost full and it has a waitlist most of the time.

If this is not where you are at because you already freed your self up inside this way, check out Daughters of the Earth Gathering; a Women's Tribal Event too in Massachusetts that happens the following weekend. Here is where we celebrate our power and enact with support our deepest visions and dreams among the good company of wildwomen. Blessings my sisters (and brothers too who are reading this ~ if you are interested, Mankind Project (MKP) holds a men's initiation that is similar but on the warrior archetype)! ALisa

Im a journalist/therapist based in Mumbai, India. Just wanted to share something - a movement you can call it - I started 5 years ago.

What started off as a newspaper column titled Connect-Ticket that I wrote and still continue to write, has over the years grown to become a global online healing network by the same name.

Connect-Ticket is a forum which attempts to link one person's positivity with another's and thereby form a huge global band of positivity. It functions as a non-religious global healing group that explores the power of prayer.

The group's based in Mumbai, but all the members - hailing from different nationalities and linked to each other purely by thought - are connected via a yahoogroups site. I invite you'll to join in and strengthen this movement, if of course, you'll feel convinced of the mission.

This article, which was published recently, will give you an idea of what this group is all about.

Here's the link:

David Brin in "Transparent Society" makes the following argument. That in fact we are "raised to rebel". The way this happens points back to suggesting that the media is pro-individual. He goes on against (frequent out cries,) he offers the following bet - "you can't cite a single popular book or film from the last decade whose professed message is conformity.

While, he goes on, we could stay here all night listing famous novels, movies, and TV shows revolving around a single idea: that it is admirable to be independent-minded, eccentric, even defiant. The major lessons extol:

* other is better than self
* rebellion can be more honorable than obedience
* independent thinking is admirable, even when mistaken
* authority should always be held in deep suspicion

To some degree we want and need to be tied to others, so fitting in is not a bad thing. We are basically social therefore wheither we claim it or not the full force of the above lesson runs up against the reality of our social nature - "got to be around someone!" So why not them over there. There always going be a mix of some sort or other brewing with some or other purpose in mind.

Tell me what you think - does the conspiracy hurt us?

I typically have a certain perspective on life and a way of embracing each day, each moment, which does not give in to anything negative and does not embrace that which is bad for me. I reach out for beauty, kindness, compassion, and love without letting trivial little steps along the way trip me up.

I have been getting lost in the little things, possibly even at times feeling overwhelmed by things that should be allowed little or no impact on my life.

Stirred in me are thoughts and emotions which, right this very minute, are helping me to remember what perspective I have chosen to have on the world, to have on my life.
i am a single male who has had his heart broke in the past, but i am optimistic, that it isn't all females that are bad, and that it is a compatibility problem. often times we mistake attraction for love or feelings and later we find and live to regret that we had nothing in common other than mutual attraction.
but we must keep getting up and trying again, trying to find that true love, the one that you could truly not live without, the love beyond words, an intertwining of souls that extends beyond the deepest depth and to the highest point, not life or death could change these feelings, two souls in love for all eternity!!!
I truly believe that this exists and it is there to be found.
